Character Development
One of my favourite characters in the book, Lee was the person I expected to change the most throughout the book, but after reading more of the book, I may be wrong for now. Homer has changed completely, from being a "cool" kid at school you couldn't trust at all, to a leader that you put all your trust into. Part of the reason I think he has stepped up is because he may of been dreaming of this day coming, the day when he can step up and become the leader and be a national hero, rather than the schoolyard bully. I still think Lee will develop as a character at the end of the book. The only reason he hasn't developed as much is (about to give a bit of a spoiler) because he was shot, and all he could do was lay down and wait for his leg to heal. I'm starting the think that Robyn will also develop heaps since she has learnt how to inject pain killers, take out stitches and is willing to take risks. They are what I think are the most noticable character changes in the book so far.

Week 2: Tomorrow When the War Began
Week 2: Getting into the plot
After the fairly slow start to the novel, we start to see our characters head into "hell". When they setup camp and settle down, we start to find out a bit more about each of the characters. We find out that Homer is always trying to impress the others by showing of how "tough" he is and how cool he can be, Fi however, is a bit of a drama queen and despises being anything but perfect. More character development is yet to happen and Im sure we will find out a lot more about the mysterious character Lee. Later on around about the middle of the book, they find out that Australia has been attacked and all their loved ones are being stored in camps guarded by the terrorists. More is yet to happen but I'm sure the end to the book will be a very interesting. All up, a slow start to the book, but starting to get quite exciting.

Week 1
As soon as you open up to the first page in the novel 'Tomorrow When the War Began' by John Marsden. You immediatly feel as if you are involved in the book. The opening sentence gives you a hint as to what may happen soon. The starting was alright, but you wanted to get down to the exciting part of the book because the introduction lasts for 2 1/2 pages... but once they set of and start leaving in the Landie to their camping spot, things really started to get interesting. But once the planes fly over their heads, you know that your in for a massive ride. So far the book has been pretty good, but if there wasn't a good blurb at the back of the book, I probably would of stopped reading it by now.
